Damage and Liability
If we are liable for loss, damage, or delay, we will pay compensation of up to USD 100 or the equivalent in the currency of the country concerned, provided the loss is proven. If the shipment is subject to the Warsaw Convention or the CMR Convention, the maximum liability limits apply.
Increased liability can be purchased for more valuable shipments, with the shipment value specified on the waybill, up to $50,000 USD or the equivalent in the currency of the country of origin for each individual package in the shipment. If you declare a shipment value higher than our general liability and pay the applicable surcharge, UPS liability is limited to damage up to the declared amount.*
Multiply the specified total shipment value by 1% to find the surcharge for the shipment as stated above.
Unless required by contract or law, we do not pay damages for pure economic loss (e.g., reduced profit, lost business opportunities, or income that may be lost due to an unused shipment) even if the value of the item was specified for the shipment in question.
